OFF GRID: Hobart - Screening in Melbourne
Thur Mar 19 | 7pm - 10pm | 1 Vale Street, St Kilda
OFF GRID is a travelling hip hop series moving city-to-city, documenting the people shaping
their local underground from within. Each episode is built from real conversations and moments
with artists who live the culture day-to-day, how they create, collaborate and move their scene
forward.
The Hobart episode turns the camera toward a place rarely centred in wider Australian rap
coverage. With fewer visiting circuits and less outside attention, the community has grown tight,
self-reliant and distinctly its own. Featuring Topski, Kiz, Hermit Kovacic, Greely, Grace Chia,
Tommy Ray, Lachy Hamill and DunnD, the film captures a small city building momentum on its
own terms. It’s not a history lesson, it’s a snapshot of the pride, relationships and energy driving
Tasmanian hip hop right now.
We’re screening the Hobart episode in Melbourne to extend that spotlight beyond the island and
connect scenes across state lines.
Live performances on the night from Tassie natives Lachy Hamill, Claira Vizzy, Kiz and Brother
Pete, with Pascal and DJ Transform joining the lineup.

Qurbat - an intimate Bhaitak experience
Sat 28 Mar |7:30pm - 9:30pm | hosted by The Bhaitak Room
Experience the timeless intimacy of a classical baithak.
Qurbat (Urdu–Arabic origin) ; meaning nearness.
Beyond its literal meaning, Qurbat speaks to the feeling of being drawn close without force. It signifies a relationship built on presence, emotional intimacy, physical closeness and mutual understanding that is felt, not spoken.
Our second baithak takes shape within this spirit, guided by ghazals that explore love, longing and what it means to sit close.
LIMITED TICKETS
Baithaks were never meant to be crowded. Held at the Artful Yoga Gallery, this baithak is intentionally limited to 40 guests to preserve the intimacy and cultural authenticity of the tradition. Keeping the event intimate allows everyone to sit comfortably, connect deeply and experience Indian classical and Sufi music the way it was originally intended - up close.
Writing as Ritual x Collaboration with 1Hotel
Sun 29 Mar |11am - 12pm | 1Hotel Docklands
In this intimate workshop, guests will explore how “morning pages” can clear mental clutter, unlock creativity, and deepen self-awareness. Through guided prompts, mindful writing exercises, and quiet reflection, participants are invited to reconnect with their inner voice and experience writing as a grounding ritual rather than a performance.
No writing experience is required — only curiosity and a willingness to pause.
An hour dedicated to clarity, creativity, and conscious presence.
Step into the gallery after hours and feel the floor come alive.
Your hosts for the night — Ingrid & James — bring not just steps, but spark. With performance experience and a warm, structured approach, they’ll guide you through a routine designed to build real skills… or gently introduce you to the irresistible world of salsa for the very first time.
As community-led Salsa & Bachata instructors, their classes are known for feeling welcoming, grounded, and genuinely fun — a space where beginners aren’t just “allowed,” they’re celebrated. No pressure, no ego, just rhythm, movement, and shared energy.
They teach with heart:
✨ Connection before perfection
✨ Consent as culture
✨ Confidence through play
✨ Joy as the destination
Whether you come solo, with friends, or with two left feet — you’ll leave lighter, looser, and a little more in love with dancing (and maybe with life).
Let the art on the walls inspire you… and the music move you 🌹
